Student Startup & Innovation Policy (SSIP)
1. Student Support and Innovation policy (SSIP) is aimed to create Innovation and preincubation ecosystem support for students in higher education institutes keeping in view that “Innovation is the key for every economy to grow”
2. SSIP will help to achieve goals of “Start-up India Stand-up India” mission
3. Initial policy period is 2017-2021

1. Developing student centric Innovation and Preincubation Ecosystem for Students (IPIES)
2. Create environment for innovation and support to ideas for better execution
3. Build internal capacity of educational institutions and key components of the innovation ecosystem
4. Create pathways for mind to market by harnessing and handholding projects/ research/ innovation/ ideas of students
1. Create at least 1% of graduates into job creators by innovation and allied means
2. Support about 100 Projects for mentoring and providing infrastructure facilities and out of it identify 35 Projects to support at the stage ofProof of Concept/Prototype development
3. File 5 patents
4. We expect at least one start-up every year to support through interventions like providing incubation space, Seed funding, patent filing support, prototype development grant & mentoring
