Anti-Ragging
Message from Principal
The institution is committed to provide a safe, inclusive, respectful, and welcoming environment for overall holistic growth of the students. Here every student can learn, grow, and achieve academic excellence without fear of harassment. Mutual respect, human dignity, and responsible conduct are the cornerstones of our academic culture. GECR is having vision to bring technically competent and socially responsible engineers, to meet the vision of our honorable prime minister sir for Vikashit Bharat by 2047.
Ragging, in any form, is strictly prohibited. It is a serious violation of human dignity, institutional discipline, and the values of higher technical education. Any act that humiliates, intimidates, threatens, ridicules, coerces, harasses, or causes physical or psychological harm to another student—whether inside or outside the campus, in hostels, during transportation, online, or through any digital platform—shall be treated as ragging.
The Institution follows a Zero-Tolerance Policy towards ragging and is fully committed to preventing and eliminating this social evil. Preventive measures such as student orientation programmes, awareness campaigns, mentor–mentee interactions, anti-ragging undertakings, continuous surveillance, counselling support, and prompt grievance redressal are implemented.
Any student found involved in ragging shall be liable for strict disciplinary action in accordance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009 (as amended from time to time), institutional rules, and other applicable laws, including the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS) and related statutory provisions [Reference 1,2,3]. Depending on the gravity of the offence, disciplinary measures may include suspension, cancellation of admission, withholding of scholarships or academic privileges, debarring from examinations, rustication, expulsion from the institution, and initiation of criminal proceedings before the competent authorities.
Our Institute ensures that every student experiences dignity, equality, and security throughout their academic journey.
Every student, faculty member, staff member, parent, local guardians and stakeholder are expected to actively support the Institution’s anti-ragging initiatives. Students are encouraged to immediately report any incident or apprehension of ragging to the Anti-Ragging Committee, Anti-Ragging Squad, Faculty Mentor, Rector, Warden, Heads of the Departments, or the Head of the Institution.
The Institution believes that every student shares the responsibility of creating a campus culture that celebrates diversity, encourages healthy interaction, and upholds the dignity and rights of every individual.
